Top Chef: Season 5 Premier

Tonight was Bravo TV's premier of the fifth season of Top Chef. So for fun my co-worker, Holli, and I put together a 'premier party'. We invited several people from work and held it at Holli's house. All told there were about 12 of us (including 3 children). Eric refused to go--he hates reality TV--but that was OK because there were others there without significant others.

For those of you familiar with the show you know that at the beginning of each episode they start off with a 'quick fire' challenge where all the contestants have to make a specific kind of dish in a short amount of time. So before the show started each of us was responsible to make our own appetizer--or work with a partner to come up with an appetizer. I'm not much of a cook so I worked with a partner. We created a steak appetizer with green peppers, mushrooms and cheese. Turned out great!

After the appetizers and socializing we all watch the premier of the show. (Or talked really loud to each other over the top of the show.) It was fun to do something outside of work that I normally wouldn't do--cook!

If you don't watch the show, check it out on Bravo TV, Wednesday nights at 8pm MST.

Yay, Sheri. I am not a fan of organizing parties but I don't mind partaking in the fun ;) I'm glad it went well and that your appetizers were great...Too bad Melissa doesn't live nearer to you. She's the gourmet in the family.
