Abbey Close Up

Have you ever seen a cuter child? What makes this picture even cuter (at least to me) is that after taking it Eric showed it to Abbey through our digital camera's view window and upon seeing it Abbey said 'baby'. Now that is one cute--and smart--baby!

Thanksgiving Day Fun

This year for Thanksgiving Eric and I stayed home and had our own little Thanksgiving. With all the snow we received earlier in the week we decided to take Abbey out and let her play in the snow. Unfortunately the snow wouldn't pack so we weren't able to build Abbey a snowman.

Eric worked hard to make a sled run in the back yard, but Abbey hated going on the sled, both by herself or on our laps.
Shortly after Eric took Abbey on the sled down the hill she started crying. When I got her off the sled and back to the top of the hill I tried putting her down in the snow and she started screaming. After her ride down the hill she was only happy when she didn't have to stand in the snow!

Snow

Last night it started to snow and this morning we were surprised by more snow then I remember ever getting in Montana (or in Boise for that matter). Since Abbey was too little to enjoy snow last year I bundled her up and we went out. As you can see in the picture she's a little hesitant about the new situation, but mostly I think it's because she hates the hat (I put gloves on her just after I took the picture and surprisingly enough she didn't mind those). She got used to the idea of snow until she slipped and fell on her bum, then she was ready to go back inside. But throughout the days she's looked out the deck door and said 'no, no' (still working on the 's'). I'm sure once Eric gets home from work he'll try taking her out there again.

Toys!

On our trip to Utah at the beginning of November Abbey got to see and spend time with her Grandpa Klein who lives in AZ. It had been almost a year since they'd seen each other and Abbey had changed a lot (of course). At first she was shy with her grandpa but then he made himself a large sandwich and she couldn't resist 'asking' for him to share. He also gave her a gift card to Toys R Us, which Eric and I used to buy her a Magna Doodle and stuffed dog (Abbey loves dogs). Below is Abbey enjoying her new toys!

Eric and Abbey in Utah

Eric, Abbey and I recently took a trip to Utah for my brother-in-law's wedding. While its hard for a 16 month old to enjoy--and be good--on a 9 hour car drive Abbey did really well and really only got fussy in the last couple of hours of the drive. At the actual wedding itself was where Abbey was her worst. She was tired and hungry and not interested in sitting still--during the ceremony I had to take her out into the hall. She was good long enough, however, for me to take a quick picture of her with her daddy. (I know I should have tried harder to get her thumb out of her mouth, but it was hard enough to get her to move her blanket from out of the picture so I didn't even try the thunb.)

Blowing Dandelions

I know its been a while since I've added to my blog when I'm posting pictures of a beautiful Fall Sunday while outside there is snow. But I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share these pictures of Abbey. One of her favorite things to do outside was to find dandelions and blow the seeds all over the yard. Of course for her this was easier said then done. In most cases she'd accidentally step on the dandelion before yanking it from the ground or in her attempt to yank it up pull the top off. Either way she still had fun tracking down the dandelions in the front yard and blowing on them.
