Home Updates

Eric has been keeping really busy making changes to our house. It's hardly the same house (OK, not really) and we've got a lot more to do (by 'we' I really mean Eric). Eric's so motivated to get things done around here he's recruited his brother Doug again this year. (Those of you who were here for Abbey's blessing remember Doug.)

Here are just a few of the things that Eric has done or is in the process of doing:
  • He replaced the carpet in the living room and down the hall with laminate flooring. It looks awesome! (I'll add a picture when I get a good one.) Eventually he'll also put the laminate in our bedroom.
  • He's also going to replace the molding in the living room, but first he'll repaint. (Mom came and helped before Abbey was born and she painted like crazy. Seems silly to repaint what she's already done, but for once I've decided to get daring and have more then all the walls in my house be white. We lived 3 years in our house in Boise and we never changed a thing on the inside of it.)
  • He replaced the carpet in the guest bedroom--including the carpet pad--and painted the ceiling and walls. He's in the process of replacing the molding. (It will be a great place for people to stay when they come visit. Hint, hint.)
  • He's gotten rid of all of the popcorn ceilings upstairs and re-textured and painted the ceilings.
  • We've removed the wood paneling and wall paper in the kitchen (and here when I say 'we', I do mean I helped). And Eric has painted the kitchen. It just needs some touch up work.
  • Eric has also been doing yard work like crazy. He removed two very large, overgrown bushes, trimmed the two trees in the front yard and had Doug pulling weeds from my weed beds (that's right, at our house they're not flower beds).
  • Eric has also put Doug in charge of sanding--and hopefully painting--our deck.

Wow! I'm tired just typing it up...and that isn't even everything Eric's done! Just thinking about it makes me need a nap. :)
