Abbey warmed up to my mom very quickly and the experience must have had an impression on her because now she will go to the piano and say "bunny"--which means she wants to get up to the piano and play and sing the bunny song. I'm really rusty at the piano and told Eric, "I should ask my mom to record herself playing these songs and have her send it to me on CD." His response? "Or you could just learn them yourself." (Thanks Eric.)
When Abbey asks for "bunny" I've been trying to play and sing for her and she'll normally sing the song. Her version of "Bunny Fluffy Bunny" is saying the word bunny over and over again at the top of her lungs. But she has a lot less patience for me then she had for my mom and often tries to change the page before I make it through the song or she tells me "all done"--which doesn't mean she's ready to get down from the piano but really means she's ready for me to go to the next song.

I think your idea is great! Mom should record herself playing and singing these songs for our kids. I know that Skylar LOVES it when moms sings, and is not loving it when I try to play them.
You look great, BTW!
I like Eric's idea: You girls should learn to play the pieces. (J/K). Actually, recording Beverly would be a good idea.
I'm happy that Beverly's playing and singing had such a positive effect on Abbey. She (Abbey--and Beverly for that matter) is such a cute little girl.

I've actually been thinking what a great idea it would be for mom to record some of the songs the grandkids love so much. I only know a few songs from that book, but Grace asks me to sing them all. And yes, us girls should learn how to play the piano! But it's kinda hard when I don't even have a piano! You are great to be singing to Abbey!
Abbey is one smart little girl that she could pick up on the concept of playing and singing at the piano so quickly. I will send her a recording so she will remember me while we're on our misson.
